That is why the importance of China as an industrial location grows more and more,as well as the acceptance of its president. The third place of the most powerful men in the world goes to the Russian politician Wladimir Putin. In 2000 the former president Boris Jelzin leaved office and Putin’s first period as the president of Russia began. In 2004 he won with a considerable distance the presidential voting and started his second period of presidential work. Since 2008 he has worked as prime minister of Russia and is called the secret head of the government. Putin is the man with the most influence in Russia.

The US-American economist Ben Bernanke is the chairman of the US Federal Reserve (Fed). During the political “era Bush”, he worked as the head of the Council of Economic Advisers, which is the most important economic-political adviser committee of the government. Since 2005 Bernanke has been the president of the central bank. Because of his good handling during the financial crisis, US- president Obama nominated him for a second mandate. In 2009, the TIME magazine named him “the person of the year”. In this list he reserves position four.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Founder of Google Inc., get position 5 in the list. 1998, during their study period, they started the conception of the well-known internet- search engine. Today, Google Inc. counts to the most successful and strongest growth enterprises worldwide. Google Inc. is chosen to the most precious brand ahead of Microsoft and Coca Cola. The founder of the enterprise, which is placed in California, are named the most powerful men of the World Wide Web, because of the enormous popularity of their internet- search engine.

The Mexican enterpriser Carlos Slim Helu is the founder of the concern “Grupo Carso” and the president of the big telecommunication enterprise Telmex. With good and sometimes controversial business-relations he became the most successful salesman of Latin America. Telmex is the biggest private concern of South America. During some parts of 2007, several major financial publications had ranked Slim as the richest person on Earth. In this top ten he achieves position six.

#07 - Rupert Murdoch
Rupert Murdoch allocates position seven in the list of the most powerful men in the world. The efficient media enterpriser owns the enterprise „News Corporation“ which includes amongst others, the film company 20th Century Fox, newspapers like Times, New York Post, Daily Telegraph, Sun, Wall Street Journal and the Pay-TV-channel Sky. His TV programs reach more than 100 million people every day. It is guessed, that approx. 2 % of the global selling media are under the influence of the man from “Down under”.

#08 - Michael Terry Duke
Michael Terry Duke is currently the fourth chief executive officer of the discounter chain Wal-Mart. Duke joined Wal-Mart in 1995 and most recently served as the executive in charge of the company's international operations. In 2009, he became the CEO of Wal-Mart. The company with it’s two million employees, is the largest private employer as well as the best selling enterprise of the world. Duke earns according to the magazine Businessweek, 12.238.209 Dollar yearly. That’s enough power for position eight in the list.

#09 - Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz al Saud
Position no. 9 of the most powerful men, gets the 85 years old king of Saudi Arabia: Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz al Saud. 2005 he assumed the title “King of Saudi Arabia”, after the death of his half-brother, King Fahd. Abdullah also serves as the Commander of the Saudi National Guard. He is President of the High Council for Petroleum and Minerals. The Oil producer Saudi Aramco is property of the government and is one of the most profitable source of financial income worldwide. King Abdullah combines traditional and cultural values of his country with the competence of a clever businessman.
